On 5 June 2025, the CCNR held its spring plenary session in Strasbourg. A number of resolutions were adopted, relating to the economic situation of inland navigation, the energy transition, the service record book and the recreational boatmaster’s certificate, matters concerning the Rhine waterway, and the cooperation with EADINS.
On 01.12.2026, a further extension of mandatory electronic reporting will enter into force. This extension will apply to vessels longer than 86 metres with one or more cargo holds.
It will also apply to vessels using an energy source other than diesel or LNG to power their propulsion systems.
The new report on European inland navigation, drafted by the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR) in partnership with the European Commission, has just been published.
